    Your dog will spend 2 weeks at My Furbaby's Resort in Fenton, MI to establish and learn all basic cues through the use of positive reinforcement training.
    Valid for 2 weeks
    • All basic cues (ex. sit, focus, leave it, come)
    • Loose leash walk in all environments
    • Behavioral training (ex. jumping, barking, crate training)
    • Immersive home environment training
    • 3 in home acclimation sessions following the program

    Beyond Basics: 4 Week Board & Train

    Every week
    Your dog will spend 4 weeks at My Furbaby's Resort in Fenton, MI to establish and learn all basic cues, leash walking, level 2 cues, and establish protocols through positive reinforcement training.
    Valid for 4 weeks
    • All basic cues and skills covered in The Basics plan
    • Level 2 cues (ex. heel, place, stay, and settle)
    • Real life protocols (ex. what to do when company arrives)
    • Behavioral training (ex. jumping, barking, crate training)
    • 4 in home acclimation sessions following the program

  • Basically Everything: 6Wk Board & Train

    800$
    Every week
    Your dog will spend 6 weeks at My Furbaby's Resort in Fenton, MI. This program covers The Basics AND Beyond Basics training plans and AKC's Canine Good Citizen certification training.
    Valid for 6 weeks
    • All basic cues and skills covered in The Basics plan
    • All level 2 cues and skills covered in Beyond Basics plan
    • All necessary skills to pass AKC's Canine Good Citizen exam
    • Expert at home and public behaviors and protocols
    • 5 in home acclimation sessions following the program

Program Details

 All board and train programs are held at My Furbaby's Resort in Fenton, MI. Animals are boarded and cared for by the staff at My Furbaby's Resort. A Trick 4 Treat Trainer will meet with your dog 5x a week to complete the training plan detailed below. 

  • Accommodations: Your dog will stay at My Furbaby’s Resort in Fenton, MI.

    • 24/7 care and support from the staff at My Furbaby’s Resort

    • Training 5 days a week from a trainer at Trick 4 Treat Training L.L.C.

    • Private 5x7 boarding room 

    • Access to 18x38 training/playroom

    • Air Conditioned/Heated

    • Whole house backup generator

    • 30x40 Fenced in area for bathroom and off leash outdoor time

    • 13 acres to walk, run, play, and train

    • Supervised playtime with other residents and daycare dogs

  • Trainers: Your dog will be regularly trained by a Trick 4 Treat Training staff member

    • Emily Hicks: Specializes in obedience, behavioral, and enrichment training.

    • Derrick Houston: Specializes in behavioral/reactive, obedience, and environmental training.

  • Training Style:

    • At Trick 4 Treat Training, we use 100% force free Positive Reinforcement Training. We believe this is the best and ONLY way dogs should be trained. The focus of training is to teach dogs how to properly communicate and navigate their environment. See positive reinforcement section for more information.

  • Daily Schedule: what to expect a typical day to entail

    • 4 30-minute training sessions

    • 2 walks/public outings

    • Supervised puppy playtime

    • Immersive training (learn how to behave in a home environment)

  • Weekly Schedule: Events that occur 1-3 times a week

    • 2-3 group training courses (based on availability)

    • Bath/grooming

    • Required vet visits

Note: The plans detailed below are an example of what a program could entail. Lesson plans are designed and tailored for each dog.

 

Dogs must complete an evaluation before board and train program begins. Additional terms and conditions, board and train waivers, and payment plan options will be discussed at evaluation. Payment deposit for the first week required at time of booking. Up to date vaccination records are required before appointment is confirmed.

Required Vaccinations/ Records:

Lepto, Bordetella, DHPP (all rounds), Lyme, Canine influenza, Rabies.

Puppies must be able to receive their first round or all or their puppy shots.

Preventive requirements: Heartworm and flea/tick prevention must be given all year around. Negative heartworm and fecal results will need to be provided.

The Basics

Duration: 2 weeks

Total Cost: $1800

This 2 week board and train program will establish a solid foundation in your dog’s training and behavior through the use of positive reinforcement. All basic cues and leash walking are taught and practiced in a variety of environments. Upon completing this course, your dog will know and listen to the learned cues. Your trainer will provide guidance on how to build on the foundation established as you continue to grow your bond with your dog.

  • Behavioral (jumping, barking, crate training, etc.)

  • Participation in group training courses when available 

  • Socialization

  • Grooming/maintenance

  • Supervised playtime

  • Walks, public outings​

Beyond Basics

Duration: 4 weeks

Total Cost: $3400

Go beyond the basics with this 4 week program that covers all basic cues, loose leash walking, level 2 cues, and real-life protocols. Your dog will learn high level cues such as heel, place, stay, and freeze. All cues and leash walking are taught and practiced in a variety of environments. Upon completing this course, your dog will know and listen to the learned cues, behave in exciting situations, and have protocols established (company arriving, polite greetings, meal time, etc.) Your trainer will provide guidance on how to maintain the behaviors established and continue education as the bond between you and your dog grows.

  • Obedience cues (see list)

  • Behavioral (jumping, barking, crate training, etc.)

  • Participation in group training courses when available 

  • Strengthening of cues through distractions and duration

  • Socialization

  • Grooming/maintenance

  • Supervised playtime

  • Walks, public outings

Go BEYOND Beyond Basics Training Plan into Canine Good Citizen preparation with this 6 week program that covers all basic cues, loose leash walking, level 2 cues, real-life protocols, level 3 cues, and Canine Good Citizen training. Your dog will learn everything from basic cues to the highest level of obedience training. They will be able to perform every cue and behavior in every situation without the use of treat rewards. All cues and leash walking are taught and practiced in a variety of environments. Upon completing this course, your dog will know and listen to the learned cues, behave in exciting situations, and have protocols established (company arriving, polite greetings, meal time, etc.), and a Canine Good Citizen certification. Your trainer will provide guidance on how to maintain the behaviors established and continue education as you continue to grow your bond with your dog.

What is Canine Good Citizen?

Canine Good Citizen is a 10-skill test that teaches good manners to dogs and responsible dog ownership to their owners created by the American Kennel Club.
